This documentary, which won the 2010 Emmy for Best Investigative Magazine, traced the global trade of electronic waste. Using public records, investigators tracked shipping containers filled with so-called “e-waste” and tracked them around the globe: to Ghana, India and China. What they found was not only a health and environmental disaster, but also a genuine security threat.
Given the time of the documentary, this post is 2 years late, thus I hope something has been done or is being done. The repercussions of injustice of course, will be felt by the perpetrators as well as the victims.
I hope something has been done about this. We cannot be a dumping ground for people’s junk, and then succumb to all their bull about how criminal we are. Smh. There just should be no room left for this.
